It shows how out of it I was in trying to be in it, acknowledging that I was out of it to myself, and then thinking, “Okay, how do I stop being out of it? Well, I get some legitimate illogical narrative ideas” — some novel, you know?
So I decided on three writers that I might be able to option their material and get some producer, or myself as producer, and then get some writer to do a screenplay on it, and maybe make a movie.
And so the three projects were “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep,” “Naked Lunch” and a collection of Bukowski. Which, in 1975, forget it — I mean, that was nuts. Hollywood would not touch any of that, but I was looking for something commercial, and I thought that all of these things were coming.
There would be no Blade Runner if there was no Ray Bradbury. I couldn’t find Philip K. Dick. His agent didn’t even know where he was. And so I gave up.
I was walking down the street and I ran into Bradbury — he directed a play that I was going to do as an actor, so we know each other, but he yelled “hi” — and I’d forgot who he was.
So at my girlfriend Barbara Hershey’s urging — I was with her at that moment — she said, “Talk to him! That guy really wants to talk to you,” and I said “No, fuck him,” and keep walking.
But then I did, and then I realized who it was, and I thought, “Wait, he’s in that realm, maybe he knows Philip K. Dick.” I said, “You know a guy named—” “Yeah, sure — you want his phone number?”
My friend paid my rent for a year while I wrote, because it turned out we couldn’t get a writer. My friends kept on me about, well, if you can’t get a writer, then you write.”

Okay, that was the funniest thing I’ve read all morning (and reading fan boys flame each other on the IMDB’s X-Men 2 page is pretty entertaining).
Well, if anything proves that A), every filmmaker needs a publicist, and B), never write anything in a state of rage (or at least, wait awhile before sending it)…
How hard is it to imagine this woman at her keyboard, eyes manically on the monitor while her fingers stab frantically at the keys. I can’t figure out whole sections of her email for all the typos.
One thing’s for sure, the reviewer was right that the film must be mostly about her because she sure didn’t learn anything from those monks.
I loved the fake cease and desist letter written on behalf of the director in the same exact misspelled style with the words transposed the same way.
Oh boy. Anna Wilding. She is close to certifiable. She once said she took ‘preventative chemotherapy’. She spends hours online writing abuse to various parties (will reveal if anyones interested)
She also gatecrashed Cannes and tried to get New Line to front for damages to supposedly injured/killed horses during the production of LOTR. She is a vindictive nutjub who writes her own website in the 3rd person, she also posts photos of herself (“dammit i’m all legs and boobs” she says in one posting) at cheesy openings in LA. The photos on her site are 9-10yrs old.
Her face looks like a cheesegrater now and not the photoshopped soft focus ones used on the site. Her site is one giant lie, its pretty entertaining. Her imdb listing proudly announces that she played the first battered wife on a NZ soap. So many Wilding stories so little time.

Huh, this woman and a huge Brett Ratner movie in the same weekend. They should get together and give birth to the most spoiled awful children ever born (before the inevitable philandering, divorce, and huge settlement).
The rack is real and she will state this ‘fact’ til the cows come home. Unfortunately for Anna, Sir Issac Newton is indeed correct. I’ll try and find some old emails she sent me that really got my back up until I realised that she’s kind of pathetic and not worthy of scorn, no matter how insulting her emails were to someone I knew and who was suffering greatly. She’s from the terrifying new breed of narcissistic self-promoting talentless hacks desperately seeking fame on the internet. She’s the worst I’ve come across. She makes Troy Duffy seem humble.
I vaguely remember that LA Weekly review and while they seemed to like the film, I think I recall their reviewer too said that the filmmaker inserted herself too much into the doc. Too much about her and not enough about the monks.
Feel free to add more Wilding stories. Probably speaking for many other would-be directors, writers and actors it’s always reassuring to see the car-wreck of others who have gone over the edge while we still manage to avoid it.

Ms. Wilding then took the matter to the American Humane Association where for many months she continued to work on resolving matters. Some crew were injured during the making of the films, says Wilding, in which many horses were injured and several horses died.

This is the page of the site that was investigated by the police for four months,as was Film Monthly.This was due to threats Actress,Director and Producer Anna Wilding received from users of this site and Film Monthly,and discreditation attempts.Film Monthly and MCNBlogs,(this site) were sent a formal Cease and Desist Letter citing slander, defamation and threats and and were asked to remove these pertinent pages.Both this site and Film Monthly agreed to to so and did.However this site is still listed on Google and should not be.Consequently Ms Wilding has lost hundreds of thousands dollars of business as a direct result of this slanderous blog page. Finally,a footnote that was meant to be posted yesterday at the time:-
More investigations,this time in NZ, have found that a “Neil Wells – calling himself from an AWINZ” possibly received a lump sum payment prior to posting a disclaimer on the end of all three Lord of the Rings films. However,notably,AWINZ,the name of the company he issued the disclaimer under , has been proven to NOT be a legally incorporated entity or legal corporation or company at the time. The matter of false disclaimers and Neils Wells actions are currently being investigated and are before NZ parliament.The American Humane Association,that judged all three films “questionable ” made comment on their website that none of the Lord of the Rings disclaimers were sanctioned or issued with the authority by the AHA,the governing bodies for animals in films and television .Anna Wilding, mediated, investigated and raised substantial concerns behind the scenes at the time and as above.This is starting to bring to close a Trilogy that is still subject of several law suits in many areas,namely between cast,crew, and New Line and Peter Jackson.

I can assure you Anna is not exagerating .
Met her some years ago on a tiny tiny tiny film. One or two vague conversations resulting in brutal verbal assaults via voice mail. Kept one of them for laughs. She is desperate for fame and seems to have lawyers and someone paying for those lawyers ( born with a silver spoon in her mouth one guesses ). Anyway, she is unhinged and in the right situation would be dangerous. Keep the hell away and dont let her anywhere near your project. She is poison.
