Weekend Box Office by Klady – P-Froggy

wkndest1213.png
The estimates for the weekend all seem to have that holiday feeling, every one, from the top frog to #10 more than tripling their Friday estimates.
I don’t know that there is anything much more to speak to that’s new since yesterday…

  1. Something tells me Summit is going to try to ride Twilight: New Moon to $300 million. All they need is $30 million. Is Twilight: New Moon the first $300 million-groosing movie that has yet to be seen by David Poland? I mean, he sat through Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I’m almost certain Twilight: New Moon is better than that piece of product. If Twilight: New Moon is Paris Hilton what does that make Transformers? K-Fed? Adam Lambert? Fabio?
(Mr. Poland, I’m just messing with you. You know we love ya.)

I wonder how much 2012 has made internationally? I couldn’t find this weekend’s figure anywhere.

Jimmy, you’re exactly right – Summit will ride New Moon to $300 million. Not sure, but I have feeling they have more time and that the DVD window will be longer on this one, than usual – I’m guessing they’ll save ad costs by release this in June just a few weeks before Eclipse comes out in theaters and they can do a blitz for both, together.
I can see them cracking $290 million by New Year’s, easily.
I’m curious about The Blind Side – I think it’s got the stamina to break $200 million, but is it going to be able to keep screens? That said, Oscar nods could give it the second wind it needs.
