Is the owl movie a flop waiting to happen (soon)? LA Times says it cost $130M+ to make and market. Are youngsters at all interested?
Not to blow smoke up his ass because one of the producers posts on this board, but how fucking cool is it that there’s going to be a new “Day of the Triffids” movie?!? It’s one of those books like “Haunting of Hill House” that you can hand anybody and they walk away like, “fucking phenomenal text.”
Oh, dig this opener to an article in today’s THR about the cancellation of “Lone Star” –
“Now 20th Century Fox can claim to have produced both a Death Star and a dead ‘Star.'”
I mean, wow.
Hehe… DAN… 😉

Although, I was always under the impression that the Triffids were something of a MacGuffin introduced to satisfy the publisher – the real focus was how humanity reacts in a crisis. It isn’t subtext like Dawn of the Dead, it’s boldtext with the various “leaders” openly announcing their philosophies. The triffids themselves only show up (I think) twice.
If “Easy A” is going to outgross “The Town,” won’t it have to, you know, start making more money?
