With Florida going blue, looks like the final Electoral College tally will be 332 electoral college votes for Obama and 206 for Romney.

  2. christian says:

    It’s going to be tight!

  3. Not David Bordwell says:

    Razor tight.

  4. sanj says:

Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell expecting their first baby..

lets all celebrate by watching a dp/30 with Dax Shepard ..
this was one of my favorite dp/30’s in 2010 … with
Katie Aselton talking about the freebie movie

    dp/30 with Dax and Katie

  5. David Poland says:

It’s funny, sanj… ran into Dax last night… and had to congratulate him on the baby, as I knew because it was scrolling under the election results shows all night. We laughed.

Good guy. Presenting, with Amy Berg, Paul Williams and Stephen Kessler’s film, Paul Williams Still Alive… terrific doc worth watching via iTunes, etc.

  6. sanj says:

this should be bigger news over here …

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have called it quits, ending their relationship after almost two years together.

  7. sanj says:

20 minute video about why the daily mail newspaper is evil ..funny stuff. critics should really watch this .

Why The Daily Mail is Evil

  8. sanj says:

watched chasing ice dp/30 – alright.

the documentary should be on discovery channel …
if they really wanted to get their message out .
millions would have seen it .

if discovery channel can run planet earth like 100 times
they can run several science documentaries .

DP go to discovery channel and yell at them.

  9. sanj says:

watched Naomi Watts dp/30 – another standard dp/30. should have been 20 minutes.

with Sally Field – Mellisa Leo – Maggie Gyllenhaal – DP is turning into Ellen DeGeneres – Ellen probably could have done all the same interviews in 10 minutes each.

DP/30: Anna Karenina – that was way better – i don’t care too much about the movie ….

DP/30: Rabbit Hole, actor Aaron Eckhart – i liked the interview more than the movie …it’s been 2 years and he needs an updated dp/30 ….

i hoping the december 2012 dp/30’s are way better.

  10. storymark says:

Heh, Wells has posted the latest DP/30 to his blog before David’s even gotten around to posting it to his.

Granted, Wells just did so to pick at it…

  11. sanj says:

well that was fast – OAG girl – made a few popular videos on youtube and became a social media viral star – and now
is doing her brand of comedy for a samsung commercial.

you know how there’s an endless debate if K-Stew is a
good actress or not – well social media sites are trying
to figure out why she’s so popular …and why she sold out.

oag girl might be limited to tech geeks / nerds but there
are 1000’s of them … so breaking out to get regular
people – critics like DP to notice isn’t easy …
i think she could act in real movies / tv shows in small parts.

anybody got any comments on oag girl ?

Overly Attached Computer (OAG) – Samsung Commercial

  12. sanj says:

TimothyDeLaGhetto gives funny 5 minute commentary Selena / Justin breakup ….

DP – this guy is a funny comic type – give him a dp/30 – check out his videos.

Selena Dumped Bieber! BEST DAY EVER!!

  13. sanj says:

the dp/30 factory is working overtime …cranking out new videos for the dozens of people who watch.

    DP/30: This is 40, writer/director Judd Apatow –
i liked this – Judd somehow balances all the stuff he’s doing and seems calm guy – kinda like Joss Whedon

DP/30: Bernie, co-writer/director Richard Linklater, actor Jack Black – first time for Linklater ? i liked
the last 5 minutes of this . also Jack should have thrown DP out that huge window.

DP/30 @ TIFF: The Bay, director Barry Levinson – kinda hard to watch for the first 10 minutes cause DP kept saying um um..hmm a lot .

DP/30 Sneak Peek: Matthew McConaughey – this was the most interesting so far. i figured he’d be too famous for a dp/30 but somehow got one . will he come back next year ? hmmm.

i have this theory that once actors do anything that ends up in comic con – they actually change. it’s probably the 1000’s of fans cheering every single minute of the panels. why go back and do basic interviews. plus i’m sure there have been actors who have been at comic con like 5 times and never did a dp/30 . its like they prefer that enivornment more than a basic interview. its mostly
the biggest scifi shows and movies. like the actors on fringe tv series – there are 6 main cast members … why would they do a dp/30 ? when they can do comic con ..
big bang theory is another show – popular cause its on repeats. no dp/30. Kaley Cuoco just got super lucky on that show…kept being a tv actress and got good at that.
didn’t go into movies. which leads to an interesting discussion….but i doubt she’ll get a dp/30 this year.

  14. sanj says:

why didn’t you super important movie critics try to save this ? you guys couldn’t even save that Ebert show.
i wouldn’t be surprised if amc stopped with the movies and only showed scripted tv series …

TVO is cutting up to 40 positions and cancelling Saturday Night at the Movies after a nearly four decade run as part of an effort to save $2 million.

    tvo cuts @themovies

  15. sanj says:

DP – how about some more updates with women actor – directors …

how about surprising some of the little indie movies into update dp/30’s …

black rock – life happens – both with female directors – both didn’t cost a lot – both had a bunch of tv actors
and they made a big deal about their movies.

i wanted more Kate Bosworth – but Fallon Goodson didn’t say too much in her interview she has like 5 movies coming out .

life happens made it to dvd but where is black rock ?

also pitch perfect with Banks. the super producer …can
she get more dp/30 .. about more Ari Graynor ..

Alison Klayman would be good – with no Ai Weiwei talk ….something new.

you seemed to have a good time with Hannah Simone but can
she say something to Zoey D to get a dp.30 out her ..

    Rebecca Hall needa a updated dp/30 ..

Kirby Bliss Blanton who stayed out of the tabloids needs updated dp/30 …

Bernice Bejo – huge oscar buzz .. needs update.

Judy Greer – do a movie with Clooney get a dp/30 – needs update.

Carey Mulligan is always fun to talk too …

Anna Kendrick – needs update. shes cool.

Evan Rachel Wood – she was supposed to sing and stuff – needs update dp/30

Eva Mendes – one of my favorites – needs update

Sofia Coppola – needs update dp/30 . makes 1 movie every few years …

also how about a dp/30 cast interview for the east – Ellen Page – Brit Marling – Alexander Skarsgard – this should be easy to get …

i’m hoping the 100’s of people who work inside the dp/30 factory take note and get them to come around to talk.

sometimes i like to pick some of my favorite actors for dp/30 sometimes i don’t . just to balance things out.

  16. cadavra says:

As long as you’re taking requests, how about a DP/30 with Nathan Lane? I know he doesn’t have any movies out right now, but he’s just so darn entertaining!

  17. sanj says:

Channing Tatum – people’sz sexiest man alive – now he’s too famous for a dp/30 . he’s busy all year taking photos.
DP you could have had him for dear john or gi joe when he was in bad films… if Steven Soderbergh was a real friend he would have gotten him for haywire ….i hated the vow movie …but you could have finally gotten Rachel McAdams for a dp/30 with Tatum.

i guess to a lot of people – people magazine is like way more important than that fancy nytimes.

  18. sanj says:

dp/30’s this week that hurt my head.

DP/30 @TIFF 2012: Anna Karenina, actors Domhnall Gleeson, Matthew Macfadyen – it was alright – i have little desire
to watch this movie at all. DP got super lucky that Keira Knightley showed up ..but then didn’t take 5 minutes to talk about any of her other movies . arrrg.

DP/30: Lincoln, screenwriter Tony Kushner – Colbert did a better 5 minute interview.

DP/30: Sons of the Clouds, Javier Bardem, Álvaro Longoria, Lilly Hartley – what is with the ugly background brick work thing with lame lighting ?
Lilly Hartley – LOOK AT HER!!!

Daniel Craig got interviewed on hitfix but couldn’t do a dp/30 ? argg

DP – after you hyped up Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron in their smaller indie movies about how great actors they are – you couldn’t get them for Prometheus dp/30 ?

Fassbender needs oscar for his acting …not easy being a robot ….i hope a dozen people in the dp/30 factory got fired for not figuring out how huge this crazy scifi story is .

  19. sanj says:

3 movies that kinda need updates

    1. The Iceman 2012 – huge cast – got into tiff 2012 – going to release in may 2013 ….shouldn’t this be put out by december 2012 .. huge cast – big budget ..

    1. how to make money selling drugs 2012 – documentary – i really liked the trailer to this – no major promotion anywhere. i guess the house i live in doc is better ?

    3. upside down 2012 – its got Kirsten Dunst and a whole bunch of new actors …but the story might be new and fresh . 60 million budget ? wow.

i don’t see the top movie bloggers talking about these movies at all.

who’s got the access to the movies and the big movie stars ? DP of course. DP will any of these get a dp/30 ?
get the dp/30 factory to work and get some actors. most who have done dp/30’s before. should be easy. they are super friends like Dunst and Shannon.

also i find it weird that i’m the only one who keeps requesting dp/30 people and nothing ever comes out of it. there must be some super secret movie club where
this can actually happen and actors come around.
i hope the super old guys at 60 minutes figure this dp/30 secret out.

also DP – are there actors that won’t do a dp/30 cause they are afraid of you and the things you will say ?

It shows how out of it I was in trying to be in it, acknowledging that I was out of it to myself, and then thinking, “Okay, how do I stop being out of it? Well, I get some legitimate illogical narrative ideas” — some novel, you know?

So I decided on three writers that I might be able to option their material and get some producer, or myself as producer, and then get some writer to do a screenplay on it, and maybe make a movie.

And so the three projects were “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep,” “Naked Lunch” and a collection of Bukowski. Which, in 1975, forget it — I mean, that was nuts. Hollywood would not touch any of that, but I was looking for something commercial, and I thought that all of these things were coming.

There would be no Blade Runner if there was no Ray Bradbury. I couldn’t find Philip K. Dick. His agent didn’t even know where he was. And so I gave up.

I was walking down the street and I ran into Bradbury — he directed a play that I was going to do as an actor, so we know each other, but he yelled “hi” — and I’d forgot who he was.

So at my girlfriend Barbara Hershey’s urging — I was with her at that moment — she said, “Talk to him! That guy really wants to talk to you,” and I said “No, fuck him,” and keep walking.

But then I did, and then I realized who it was, and I thought, “Wait, he’s in that realm, maybe he knows Philip K. Dick.” I said, “You know a guy named—” “Yeah, sure — you want his phone number?”

My friend paid my rent for a year while I wrote, because it turned out we couldn’t get a writer. My friends kept on me about, well, if you can’t get a writer, then you write.”
~ Hampton Fancher

“That was the most disappointing thing to me in how this thing was played. Is that I’m on the phone with you now, after all that’s been said, and the fundamental distinction between what James is dealing with in these other cases is not actually brought to the fore. The fundamental difference is that James Franco didn’t seek to use his position to have sex with anyone. There’s not a case of that. He wasn’t using his position or status to try to solicit a sexual favor from anyone. If he had — if that were what the accusation involved — the show would not have gone on. We would have folded up shop and we would have not completed the show. Because then it would have been the same as Harvey Weinstein, or Les Moonves, or any of these cases that are fundamental to this new paradigm. Did you not notice that? Why did you not notice that? Is that not something notable to say, journalistically? Because nobody could find the voice to say it. I’m not just being rhetorical. Why is it that you and the other critics, none of you could find the voice to say, “You know, it’s not this, it’s that”? Because — let me go on and speak further to this. If you go back to the L.A. Times piece, that’s what it lacked. That’s what they were not able to deliver. The one example in the five that involved an issue of a sexual act was between James and a woman he was dating, who he was not working with. There was no professional dynamic in any capacity.
