  1. Felipe says:

Marion Cotillard gave the best female performance of this year so she deserves the Oscar

  2. Robby Harrington says:

Ann Dowd and Emmanuelle Riva better sneak in there somehow !!

  3. Tuck Pendelton says:

Shame no one is remembering Mary Reilly from Flight, she was great.

I bet Bardem over Arkin / DiCaprio.

  4. Pierrot says:

    Hollywood, 2073.
Academy Award Winner Zack Efron: Come on, guys, let´s give Leonardo DiCaprio the Lifetime Achievement Award. It´s time.
AMPAS: Well, we were thinking more of Robert Pattinson. He´s due.
Efron: But Leo never won an Oscar, RPatz has four.
    AMPAS: Leo can wait.
Efron: But he´s 99 years old!
AMPAS: Yeah, and we don´t want him to start thinking he can just coast on his good looks and exceptional talent.

  5. Joseph says:

I’m beginning to think little Miss Wallis is a lot of wishful thinking. Those of us who live in the real world realize that a 6 year old getting in ahead of, say, Emmanuelle Riva or Rachel Weisz or Naomi Watts would be pretty embarrassing. For the Academy.

  6. Daniella Isaacs says:

Well, she’s 9 or 10 now, Joseph, but she was 6 when cast. I do think her performance is a miracle of instinct and good direction, not craft, but that might not stop them from nominating her.

  7. Joseph says:

A “miracle”??? I could put my 7 year old nephew in front of a camera and he’d do the same thing. It’s not a miracle. It’s just a little child play-acting in front of a camera. The fact that the writer-director re-shaped the script to fit Miss Wallis’ personality tells you all you need to know.

  8. Josh says:

I think Nicole Kidman should take Maggie Smith OR Amy Adams’ place.

  9. Daniella Isaacs says:

I think it was Gene Siskel who said something like: every time a child under 10 gets nominated for an acting award, the real achievement is the director’s.

But I have to say, if you can get that out of your child, then do it; you’ll have a big hit on your hands.

To people who criticize modern art with the statement, “I could have painted that,” I have a friend who wisely replies: “but you didn’t; the fact is you didn’t.”

  10. João Felipe says:

guys… it’s zero dark thirty, not zero dark FORTY haha

  11. Victor says:

It would be embarasing if Amy Admas stoles Nicole Kidman´s nomination. Adams is a good actres, but she just did very good performances, what Kidman did´s in “The Paperboy”puts Amy Adams performance like a kitty cat.

Also i hope Anne Hathwat win´s this time. Sally Field is an amazing actress to but she had won 2 oscar with 2 nominations, she deserve´s a thrid oscar for here third nomination? I hope not, because Meryl Streep also have 3 oscars, but with 17 nominations

  12. Rod says:

I really hope Naomi Watts win for The Impossible,I think her performace is excellent,a real tour de force, very strong and very subtle.
She is really better than Jessica,Jennifer or Emanuelle Riva.
Naomi Watts is the most underated actress in the movie industry. She really touch my heart with this performarce.
