  1. Nick says:

It’s a shame that The Immigrant is being overlooked. Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Renner, Marion Cotillard, and James Gray’s direction were all phenomenal.

  2. Nick says:

That being said my favorite performance of 2014 so far is Jude Law in Dom Hemingway.

  3. benutty says:

Pond has two 4s listed. I’m assuming his 4 for Mr. Turner is actually Poland’s missing 4?

  4. Nick says:

    this chart makes no sense.

  5. chris says:

    …and the Oscars do?

  6. Greg says:

Best Supporting Actress is always my favorite category and I love that Patricia Arquette is getting some attention, great movie and a great actress.

I was hoping that Kim Dickens in Gone Girl would get some traction, Carrie Coon is amazing as well, but Dickens was my favorite thing about that film.

*I like seeing this chart. I can make my own decisions on who I like and what I think but it’s really fun for a film fan to see what others are feeling. It seems like more of WHO WE THINK rather than WHO WE WANT but it’s fun anyway.

  7. molly'sdad says:

Two best performances of the year that will be ignored – Lindsay Duncan and Jim Broadbent in LE WEEKEND. Career best from both of them.

  8. David Poland says:

Sorry about that… I was also missing my 6 for some reason. Fixed now.

  9. Paul says:

There is an error with the votes of Pete Hammond. He does not have the number 3 and number 7.

  10. EDA says:

It’s become completely ridiculous that Anne Thompson’s refusal to predict things because she hasn’t seen them is still allowed here.

  11. Helen says:

Marion Cotillard should be considered for critics because her performance in Two Days One Night is AMAZING!!!

  12. Steve says:

What happened to Inhernet Vice? The trailer looks fantastic. It seemed to have been well received in New York. Yet it has no mentions? Only Brolin has a chance?

  13. Ray Pride says:

Opens wide 12/12. Critics in cities other than NYC should be seeing it as the season gets going.

  14. ross says:

Keira Knightley finally getting that 2nd nomination after so many snubs. My question is if she’s actually going to campaign since she never does.

  15. scot says:

Just came out of an early screening of BIRDMAN and agree that Norton, Keaton and Stone should see awards action. But the movie is filled with award-worthy performances… how could Naomi Watts be overlooked? She’s incredible (and looking more and more like a young Helen Mirren). Galifinakis is also wonderful, as is Andrea Riseborough. The movie is a wonder and is absolutely a must-see-a-second-time.

  16. Mark D says:

With all of the deserved attention to Boyhood, how is it possible that Ellar Coltrane is not mentioned anywhere??

  17. Logan says:

Hey, Gurus: Why din’t you put date(s) on your charts? They are meaningless if we can’t tell whether they are weeks old or done last night.
