  1. Sam E. says:

So, two british films with reviews on the strong side of mediocre are going to do better at the Oscars than better received films from Clint Eastwood, Bennet Miller and David Fincher?

  2. benutty says:

I agree with Sam E.’s sentiments above. Pundits calling big noms for The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything are guarding themselves because they don’t want to be as embarrassed as they were when they didn’t see The King’s Speech beating out The Social Network. This awards season is looking like the pundit industry needs a serious overhaul if the goal is to have accurate predictions play out. Too much lack of understanding of how recent years have played out. Just sayin.

Into the Woods and Interstellar are where most of these picks are missing the mark.

It’ll be interesting to see how they all revise their picks now that Selma and American Sniper have screened to the similar “BEST ACTOR SPOT IS LOCKED” reviews that they each made for Cumberbatch and Redmayne after their screenings.

  3. Patryk says:

All I can say right now is…what is Anne Thompson smoking? Julianne Moore at 6 and Mia Wasikowska ahead at 5? Pass the peace pipe, Anne.

  4. PJ says:

Karger predicting Unbroken/Interstellar split! Just like me!

  5. Jerry says:

What does the heading text “Top 5 Ordered” mean when everything appears ordered?

  6. YancySkancy says:

    “Noel” Edgerton?

  7. David Poland says:

I used the wrong form for this round and didn’t have time to lay it out again before posting, Jerry. Apologies.

  8. Glamourboy says:

Wow, Dave must not have liked Into The Woods…

  9. K. Bowen says:

The Grand Budapest Hotel is the definition of great direction. The continued Academy neglect of Wes Anderson and the other Indie Generation directors is an Oscar crime.

  10. Gary Roberts says:

How come Ellwood has two number ones? Interstellar and Boyhood.

  11. Gary Roberts says:

Sorry. Realise it should be 10.

  12. joshua says:

gone girl sucked and boyhood was blandhood. what is the whole lot smoking? Im rooting for something to be really good, otherwise maybe edge of tomorrow and snowpiercer were the best films of the year, lol

  13. joshua says:

budapest wasnt bad, but hard to care a lot about it. oh ya, that lego movie was awesome!

  14. Helen says:

Marion Cotillard has to be in the lineup of nominees because her performance is amazing and IFC and she are doing big promotion about the film Two Days One Night and her superb performance. For all Gurus of Gold, you must confide in her.

  15. xas says:

Helen, if IFC is too confident in “Two Days, One Night”, then why did Cotillard returned to France few days ago, instead staying in USA to campaign hard? Sorry to brrak the bubble, she’s out of the race.
