  1. benutty says:

The Rise of Selma, or The Unexpected Fall of Birdman.

  2. Also Anon says:

    Next week:

    – Birdman overtakes Imitation Game for No.2.

    – Gone Girl flies past Unbroken.

  3. Sam E. says:

About the only thing I would bet money on is that Boyhood is nominated besides that even the Imitation Game could miss the cut and it wouldn’t shock me.

  4. Shane J. says:

I know Redmayne is a lock for a nomination and probably the win, but does anyone who has seen Theory think it’s Best Picture material? It’s artless and stodgy with two very good performances propping it up.

  5. Danny says:

I also think Theory of Everything – besides its excellent performances – is not as deserving for a BP nom as most if not all of the films listed below it on the current list. It may get more across the board support in the #3-#5 slots on the nominating ballots, but will it have enough passionate support to get the requisite #1 votes? We’ll see.

  6. John E. says:

Man, I regret not having seen Boyhood yet.

Interesting that Into the Woods got four votes in the top ten. I didn’t think the buzz was that positive.

  7. Pj says:

LOL there are people actually predicting James Marsh

  8. Glamourboy says:

The buzz for INTO THE WOODS has been very positive with many saying that it is the best stage to film musical adaption ever.

  9. Craig says:

The fact that The Theory of Everything is still ranked this high is crazy

  10. Craig says:

    And what about Inherent Vice?

  11. Daniella Isaacs says:

I haven’t seen it, but I’ll say that if INTO THE WOODS is anything better than a RENT/THE PRODUCERS/NINE like misfire, it has a strong shot of making the cut. The Academy membership rolls are still stuffed with older voters who are going to love a more or less traditional musical filled with a bunch of their favorite stars.
