NSI signs 3-year deal with NBCUniversal Canada in support of Aboriginal training courses
The National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI) is proud to announce a new three year partnership with NBCUniversal Canada for NSI’s Aboriginal training courses.
“We have had the great fortune of working with NBCUniversal Canada on two other training programs for emerging Aboriginal content creators,” said John Gill, NSI CEO. “This new partnership ensures we can continue to deliver exceptional market-driven courses for Aboriginal writers, directors and producers in Canada.”
For year one of the agreement, NBCUniversal Canada will be the Presenting Sponsor of the new NSI Aboriginal Documentary course, to be launched this fall.
“A key priority for NBCUniversal Canada is providing an opportunity for Aboriginal media artists to get their stories told,” said Wanda Bradley, Director of Sales, NBCUniversal Television Canada. “NSI has an excellent reputation for training filmmakers and grooming them for sustainable careers in the Canadian industry, so we are thrilled to partner with them again.”
The NSI Aboriginal Documentary course will provide over a year of training to four writer/director producer teams as they produce a short documentary film. More details will be available in the coming months.
About the National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI)
The National Screen Institute is a national training school widely known for its prestigious training courses for Canadian writers, directors and producers working in film, television and digital media.
Most programs are part-time so students keep their day jobs while they train. Participants do not have to relocate – intensive training happens in one place and participants return home to work with a mentor for the rest of their course. All training is delivered by senior industry experts. NSI has been designing and delivering programs for Aboriginal students since 2003.
