IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE NORTH AMERICAN DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS TO COMEDY “$5 A DAY” AT TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Amanda Peet, Sharon Stone, Christopher Walken, Alessandro Nivola, Peter Coyote and Dean Cain star in comedy about the hilarious antics of a con man and his conservative son
TORONTO, Sept. 5, 2008 – Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, announced today at the Toronto International Film Festival that it has acquired from Capitol Films, Ltd. all North American rights (except theatrical) to the comedy “$5 a Day.” The film will screen here Sept. 6, 7 and 12.
“$5 a Day” stars Amanda Peet (“The X Files: I Want to Believe,” “Martian Child,” “Syriana”), Academy Award®-nominated actress Sharon Stone (“Basic Instinct,” “Casino,” “Bobby”), Academy Award®-winning actor Christopher Walken (“Hairspray,” “Click,” “Wedding Crashers”), Emmy-nominated actor Peter Coyote (“Erin Brockovich,” “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial”), Dean Cain (TVs “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”) and Alessandro Nivola (“Jurassic Park III”).
The conservative son (Nivola) of a thrifty conman (Walken) begrudgingly joins his father on the road after being released from jail for one of his dad’s earlier crimes.
