as a huge brad anderson fan, i’m envious that ‘vanishing on 7th street’ is showing there. seems like i’ve been waiting forever. hopefully it won’t go straight to the shelf here, but i probably shouldn’t get my hopes up.
Leahnz, at least here in the US, it’s also on Amazon Video On Demand, so if you don’t mind watching it at home there’s that way to watch it now.
I bought a DVD as a gift so I was given credit at their VOD store. I rented HOWL and found the service to be pretty decent. It’s fast and efficient. I decided to stream it and the quality was decent, better than Netflix streaming looks with no buffering and slow downs. I think it’s higher quality if you decide to dl but I didn’t try that…(Thought this might be a worthwhile comment, considering all the talk of new modes of distro on here…)
i wish jkill. our VOD is positively antiquated compared to yours in terms of speed of access, only slightly quicker – and sometimes not even – than dvd release. but thanks (tho now i’m even MORE envious. bugger)

For official runtime of the Academy Awards, I’m assuming the start is the first note of the opening song but what about the end? Does the clock stop with the host saying “good night” or is it after the final credit rolls? Anyone know?
1) Rango looks tremendous.
2) Mars Needs Moms has a catchy hip hip jam to it.
3) How exactly is there another Diary of a Wimpy kid movie?
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

LOOK AT HER.

That’s the reason he went with Hathaway. Seriously, it’s all thanks to Adam Hughes.
Yeah, I just read a bit further… damn you fakers… DAMN YOU!!!!
ETA – LOOK AT HER ANYWAYYYYYY.
Please, stop with the lexisms. One is enough.
LOOK AT YOU! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT US!
stop shouting, old man, i can hear you.
Just finished watching Taken. Still a kick ass flick after not seeing it for a couple of years. Violent and Liam is a force to be reckoned with.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SHOUTING ON THE INTERNET! Stop taking things so damn literal!
problem is, all of lex’s isms are stolen from others and passed off as his own.
PUPPY POWER – scrappy doo long before lex (boo hoo but i’ve never seen scrappy doo – yeah my ass)
YEP YEP – jay long before lex (and prob. urban slang before jay and the silent one popularised it, i would imagine)
LOOK AT HER – urban slang. one example, i’m sure there’s prob. more (2006): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndTaMUlD84A
Leah: I’m still waiting for that photo, you saucy wench!
psst joe: i actually emailed you a photo (to the address on yer blog i’m pretty sure) after some goading from my (supposed) mates that night after i’d enjoyed a few seabreezes…you didn’t get it?
Alas, no. I have been pining all this time.
You HAVE been married for a long time – “saucy wench” wtf? 😉
aw, how did i muck that up? i’ll have another go when i’m @ home, not sure who i sent that one to…
Another admirer, I’m sure.
it was an entirely innocent pic so no worries there at any rate
YEP YEP is from Vanilla Ice, from the intro to Play That Funky Music that goes:
“Awwwwwww yeah,
GOTTA, GOTTA
YEP YEP!”
It’s been stuck in my head for 20 years.
Wreckx-N-Effect also used it before Jay-Z.
That POWER thing I did NOT get from Scrappy Doo, but truth told I’m using that less and less cause I’m getting sick of it myself.
I really don’t think anyone can claim a copyright on the words “Look at her” as some kind of trademark. But it should always be said and heard in a comically high-pitched voice that seeks to infantilize the woman it’s directed at, or just to sound like a total dork.
I vote for “dork”.
Justin Bieber vs Banksy – after a year the hype will
die down – they both need some major hits by then to
get noticed
Biber has been overexposed – he gives interviews – Banksy – not so much with the interviews
it’ll take a few years but i want a DP/30 with Banksy –
i’d like to see more DP/30 with artists that only do a few projects a year ….those people are hard to find …
Quentin Tarantino is one of them …. he only does 1-2 films a year – which creates more pressure to make it really good film.
Actually, Sanj, I think QT makes fewer than 1-2 films a year.
Joe, you’re responding to the most devious spambot ever created…
Just wanted to share this: It’s a comment recently posted to the YouTube clip of my Titanic interview with Leonardo DiCaprio:
“i downloaded this vid onto my cell and watch it 2 times per day
though i hate to see him smoking,he has such an angelic face. Just listen to his voice makes me all fluffy
i was only 4 when this movie came our. Gossh [sic] i miss 90s.”
Am I the only one who finds this a little… scary?

Joe, never read You Tube comments. Just don’t.
Anyone see Abigail Breslin on Leno the other night?
Whoa, when did THAT happen???????
new Simpsons episode …hey DP – you should review this
Bart’s film about an angry father quickly becomes a critic favorite, winning him several awards.
hey DP – how about a DP/30 with Lindsay Lohan ..
Lindsay has made some bad bad movies after Mean Girls and
i wanna know how she explains her choices of movies ..
any other actors with 4 bad movies based on RT scores
did these actors just get unlucky or are they just bad actors ..
