the rubicon recedes in the rear-vision mirror as the mad orange king spouts gibberish lies while the citizenry swims around like frogs in the pot, some croaking loudly about the simmering water while the others wait, wait to be boiled alive
I’m probably in the minority but I flat-out LOVED Alita. I just simply had a lot of fun and I was in need of it and sometimes that’s enough. The FX were astounding and the fight scenes really worked. A few under developed characters (Hugo *snore*). I wanted more of the dude with the cyborg dogs. But otherwise it worked for me almost completely…
…until the last 5 seconds when I realized the main plot wasn’t getting resolved and we’re set up for a sequel that will probably never happen. Especially sucks because I loved the reveal at the end.
SUBTLE SPOILER
I want to see him fully in the sequel damnit!!
END SPOILER
So I had fun and considering we’re in the End of Days that’s all you can ask sometimes
I enjoyed Alita too Bill, but that ending is kind of a damper.
